A cleverly designed and nicely illustrated book about hotel architecture. The concise texts and illustrations (selected sketches of ground plans and facades) make this publication stand out against the mass of illustrated books about hotel architecture.

Someone trying to catch a small glimpse of what it feels like to be a famous star will find this book to be a well-made travelling guide. Our favourite is the Hotel del Coronado, where Some Like It Hot was filmed ("nobody is perfect...").

Similar to Hotel Stories, this book also illustrates the special relationship that developed between various stars and certain hotels (and which is also used for marketing purposes by some hotels). Unfortunately, it is only available second hand.

For people that have already seen (almost) everything, Shelley-Maree Cassidy points out unusual alternatives to the traditional grand hotels. Unfortuantely, the quality of the photos is not always satisfactory.
